Here’s what you’ll need.

Students interested in receiving a personal trainer certification from the American Academy of Personal Training School (AAPT) must first apply for admission. Don’t worry. Our personal training admissions process is painless. We simply want to know a few things about you before enrolling you in the program. Are you of legal age? Do you have some basic education under your belt? Do you have a grasp of the English language? Keep reading to see the full list of personal training admission requirements.

AAPT Admission Requirements

 

Minimum age requirement:

18 years

Submit one of the following:

  • driver’s license
  • passport
  • birth certificate

Minimum education requirement:

high school or equivalent

Submit one of the following:

  • high school diploma
  • high school transcripts
  • GED certificate
  • college diploma
  • college transcripts
  • proof of foreign education with English translation and equivalency report

Minimum language requirement

High-school level written and conversational English comprehension (English as a Second Language (ESL) or multilingual options not available)

Required enrollment paperwork

Submit all of the following:

  • completed enrollment agreement
  • completed payment plan contract
    (if applicable)
  • completed co-signer agreement
    (if applicable)
  • tuition deposit

    New York: $640, minimum

    includes 10% deposit ($565) + registration fee ($75)

    Boston: $615, minimum

    includes 10% deposit ($565) + registration fee ($50)
